The 10th WIOMSA Scientific Symposium will be held at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam. JNICC can accommodate up to 1000 delegates. It is conveniently located in Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania and one of the safest large cities of East Africa. Dar es Salaam or “haven of peace”, has a wide range of budget and luxury hotels and a number of traditional and international restaurants offering rich diversity of cuisine with a touch of Swahili, African, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Turkish, Italian and Japanese foods. The JNICC is within reach to most of these hotels and restaurants.

Named after Tanzania’s first president, the late Julius Kambarage Nyerere JNICC has 12 conference rooms that can seat 5 – 300 in flexible setups including theatre, classroom, half-moons, hollow-squares, horse shoe and a large amphitheater that sits about 1003 delegates. Equipment includes Simultaneous Interpretation System (SIS) of up to 4 languages, audio visuals and LCD projectors. wireless and wired Internet service is also available along with catering, exhibition areas, secretariat offices, VIP rooms and ample parking space.

Getting There:

JNICC is located at Shaaban Robert Street, in the heart of the City Centre in Dar es Salaam. Most of the accommodation options are within a walking distance of the Conference Centre.  Shuttles will be organized to pick up delegates on Saturday 28th October and Sunday 29th October from the Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) to the listed symposium hotels and on Saturday the 4th November and Sunday 5th November to the airport.  The airport is approximately 40 minutes’ drive by car from the venue, during low traffic.
