Abstract & Registration

  1. Abstracts are invited on any topic related to coastal and marine environment of the region. See the [Programme Menu] for details of conference and session themes.
  2. Priority will be given to multi-/trans-/interdisciplinary abstracts.
  3. Abstracts must be in English as that will be the official language of the symposium.
  4. The abstract should not exceed 300 words.
  5. Online submission of abstracts will require the following information: title, name(s) of author(s), affiliations, postal and e-mail addresses. Submission will also require a selection of the preferred mode of presentation (oral or poster).
  6. Abstracts must be in Times New Roman, 12-point font, single spaced with justified alignment.

Abstracts should provide a brief statement of the problem, the methodology, the results and the conclusion. The abstract should be submitted in plain text only without the inclusion of tables, graphs, images, etc.

I. All abstracts will be reviewed for merit and relevance.

II. Abstracts must be submitted online at abstract.wiomsa.org no later than 27th March 2015. Deadline has now been extended to 10th April 2015.

III. Confirmation of acceptance for oral or poster presentations will be communicated to authors by 15th May 2015.  

IIII. Online submission will require the creation of a user profile and password.  Further details can be found on the submission website.

Instructions for submitting abstracts:
2. Navigate to “About” tab;
3. Select a scheduled conference to create an account with (there is only one option available: WIOMSA Symposia);
4. Select a scheduled conference to create an account with (there is only one option available: 9th WIOMSA Symposium);
5. Populate your profile with information
6. Right at the bottom: “Create account as” – tick Author;
7. Ignore “Reviewer” tick.
8. Submit. You will receive an email to confirm your registration.
9. Once registered, please log in and submit a new abstract.
